Wisr AI: Securing the Future with AI in British Columbia

Rob Goehring is focused on the fight against cyber threats while supporting efforts to turn British Columbia into a global hub for artificial intelligence innovation.

tl;dr

  • Rob Goehring, CEO of Wisr AI, is using advanced AI to proactively combat cyber threats, describing their technology as a digital guard dog. Beyond cybersecurity, he aims to position British Columbia as a global AI leader through his role with AInBC and the B.C. Tech Association.

  • Goehring envisions building a robust AI ecosystem in B.C., fostering innovation, talent, and economic growth to lead the AI revolution.

Rob Goehring is a man on a mission. As the CEO of Wisr AI, he’s leading a Vancouver-based company that’s doing much more than developing software—it’s defending the digital frontlines. “We’re in an era where every business, from the smallest startup to the largest corporation, is under constant threat,” Goehring says. “Our job is to keep them safe.” And that’s exactly what Wisr AI is doing, using artificial intelligence to outsmart hackers before they even make a move.

At the core of Wisr AI’s strategy is a sophisticated platform that doesn’t just react to threats—it anticipates them. Goehring describes it as “AI with a sixth sense,” capable of predicting attack patterns by analyzing massive data streams and identifying anomalies and risks in an enterprise’s vendor supply chain. "We’ve created a solution that learns from every new piece of data," he explains. "It’s like having a digital guard dog that gets smarter and more vigilant each day." This approach supports businesses eager to protect their data and assets in a world where cyber threats are escalating.

If we create the right environment, we won’t just be participating in the AI revolution—we’ll be leading it.

But Goehring’s ambitions reach far beyond cybersecurity. Recently appointed as the executive director of AInBC, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing AI innovation in British Columbia, he is determined to position the province as a global leader in artificial intelligence. “British Columbia is home to some of the brightest minds in AI,” Goehring says. “What we’re doing now is building the bridges—between startups and academia, between innovators and investors, and ultimately, between technology and people.”

Goehring is also a strong supporter of the B.C. Tech Association, where he’s led the AI Council since 2019. "The real opportunity here is not just about building technology,” he says. “It’s about building an ecosystem where technology can truly flourish." His vision is to make B.C. a destination for top AI talent from around the world, creating jobs and spurring economic growth. “If we create the right environment, we won’t just be participating in the AI revolution—we’ll be leading it,” he says.

For Goehring, the work at Wisr AI and AInBC are two sides of the same coin. "It’s all about leveraging technology to create a safer, smarter, and more connected world," he says. In the rapidly evolving AI landscape, his approach is both forward-thinking and pragmatic. “AI isn’t just about the future—it’s about what we can achieve right now.”
