Women, Values, Money: Getting Rich Together

Syama Bunten is on a mission to eliminate the taboo and stigma that cloud conversations about investment and finance among women. With a diverse background in fashion retail, e-commerce, and venture capital, Bunten has a wealth of experience she is now sharing with women everywhere through her newly launched podcast, Getting Rich Together.

From her early days working in retail giants like Macy's and Barneys New York to leading divisions at Gucci and launching her own consulting firm, Scaling Retail, Bunten has navigated the complex landscape of business with determination.

Her podcast serves as a platform for candid conversations about money, investing, and wealth-building, particularly from a female perspective. Through the podcast, Bunten aims to demystify finance and inspire women to take control of their financial futures.

“If women were to be as financially active as men right now, we’d have a little over $3 trillion floating in the global economy,” Bunten says. “By not investing, we’re actually leaving money on the table.”

That reticence toward investing is rooted in historical barriers that have prevented women from being in control of their own finances. “There’s a lot of shame around money,” she notes, highlighting the fact that it wasn’t long ago that women weren’t trusted to make their own financial decisions.

Ultimately, Bunten's vision for success extends beyond individual financial gains. She measures the impact of her podcast by the tangible shifts in mindset and behaviour among her audience. Whether it's negotiating a raise, starting a business, or investing in oneself, her goal is to empower women to take bold steps towards financial independence and prosperity.
