WE ARE THE OUTSIDERS

…with a fresh perspective

WELCOME TO THE SECOND QUARTERLY EDITION OF DISRUPTION.I WANT TO TAKE A MINUTE TO THANK READERS FOR JOINING US ON THIS JOURNEY FUELED BY CURIOSITY. IN THE FOLLOWING PAGES, WE’RE BUILDING ON THE SENSE OF URGENCY WE GET FROM BEING AT THE CENTER OF THESE MASSIVE TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGES AND WE’RE CONTINUING TO PULL IDEAS FROM OUR GREATEST RESOURCE: OUR PEOPLE AND OUR READERS.

We are experiencing new and incredible developments the same way you are, in real time. Being at the center of the tech industry put us in a position to play with and experiment with technology. But at the same time it puts a sense of urgency for us compared to most of our readers because we’re closer to the sun. We feel the heat first, before a lot of other industries out there do. We want to use this position to better equip our clients and the business community to be ready for what’s coming and what’s already here.

At Disruption, we believe the more information and experience we can share the better. When we focus on an open door or open share philosophy the potentials are endless. We want to show both our successes and failures and our first steps into each new trend and development. We will teach while also learning. A big part of accomplishing this has been developing the Disruption Council – a platform where it’s safe to try new things and get a little wild with new ideas without fear.
Because ultimately, it’s not about picking winners and losers in technology; it’s about picking a starting point and trying it, taking a first step and seeing where it takes us. That’s what Disruption Magazine and the Disruption Council are about: a journey of first steps.

Some things will grow into beanstalks and some won’t. It’s as simple as that and all we can promise our readers is that we’re excited, willing and able to plant the seeds and see how far into the sky they can take us.

As a final note before we get to the good stuff, I want to also say how grateful we are for the overwhelmingly positive response we received for our first issue. The one thing that shocked us all in that response, though, was that our highest rated reading was for our article on “A Sleepless Society.” Expounding on the benefits of choosing sleep over technology, this article was the one that was the most anti-disruption of all. What this tells us is, that no matter how important Disruption and technology is, so is just living.

And at Disruption, we will strive to do our best to bring you not only the greatest in disruptive technology but supply you with a guide for how you can incorporate it into your life, while still having a life outside of it.

I can’t wait to see the ways we can all grow together in the coming issues and sincerely hope the following pages will bring our readers something that will add to your personal and professional lives.
Make it a great day.
